The mission of Zia Sanctuary is to promote animal welfare by providing shelter for homeless horses, to help abused animals, to rehabilitate and rehome when appropriate, and to provide medication and care for retired horses to save them from the slaughter. While our focus is on horses, mules, and donkeys, we have given a home to cows and llamas as well, under this same mission.
Zia Sanctuary is operated by Judith Graile and some volunteers. Judith has dedicated her life to improving the welfare of animals, with a focus on horses. She created Parkland Ranch over a decade ago, to rescue and heal horses. She educates horse trainers in the Gentle Way, and has helped grow the community of riders who fully respect and understand their horse. She has been very successful in healing horses and placing them in supportive homes.
Some rescued animals are not able to be placed in other homes. In response to this, Zia Sanctuary was created in 2019 to provide a nurturing home for these animals. Through your support we are able to provide a home, feed, and care for these animals. We find the commitment to the lives of these animals to be very fulfilling. We are grateful to have supporters that join us on this journey and, like us, take pride and honor in saving lives.
Our sponsorship programs are designed to allow you to be as active in the care of these horses as you choose, even rescuing a horse yourself.
With your help Zia Sanctuary will be able to continue our mission to rescue horses and provide a safe home for horses that others have given up on.
Zia Sanctuary operates near Inglis Manitoba. We are fortunate to have facilities and grazing pastures provided by Parkland Ranch. Parklandranch.com.
